About The Event
SWALE BUILDING WORKSHOP
Harvesting Rain, Building Resilient Land
Learn how simple earthworks can transform the way water moves across your land. This hands-on workshop will introduce the principles of swale design and construction — a powerful technique used in regenerative agriculture and permaculture to slow, spread, and sink rainwater into the soil.
Participants will learn how swales help prevent erosion, recharge groundwater, build soil fertility, and support productive landscapes. We’ll explore both hand-built and machine-built methods, so attendees can apply these skills whether they are working with a shovel on a backyard slope or planning larger earthworks on acreage.
This is a practical, outdoor learning experience where we’ll walk the land, build together, and explore how thoughtful water management can increase the resilience and productivity of any property.
